In foreground is the city of Bar Harbor. The island is called Bar Island.
As the tide went out a landbridge was formed connecting the island to City of Bar Harbor.
A large number of mussel shells were exposed.
When the tide returned water began to cover the landbridge.
We had already toured the island and could return to the city.
Young high school kids who had been having fun speeding
and sliding on the shells became stuck. They worked feverishly
trying to move the car before it was covered with water,
We found a nice lobster restaurant located on a dock over the water.
